Somerset House is pleased to host a newly commissioned light sculpture by Jason Bruges Studio for the third Fashion in Film Festival. Hemline: The Moving Screen will be a captivating installation in homage to the films of Belle Époque dancer Lois Fuller, whose breathtaking performances and influential costume made her an icon of early cinema.

The sculpture has been designed as a three dimensional ‘moving screen’ that reflects Fuller’s manipulation of large volumes of fabric, producing dazzling visual effects and optical illusions. The installation will respond to the movement of audience by changing shape and colour according to the number of visitors in the space.
